5K RACE
The 5K and 10K race course will both start and finish at the Depot area of the Willard City Park, near 542 S. Main St, on City Park Dr. The 5K consists of mostly sidewalk and street running, but the terrain will be mixed as the course travels through the wilderness trail leading to the park.
The 5K is largely a closed course, with some areas in neighborhoods that are open to traffic. These areas will be marked very clearly, with traffic cones and signage to assist with the course. The 10K course addition is completely open to traffic, so racers must exercise caution and run on the side of the road. However, volunteers will be throughout this area to assist with traffic, and the use of many signs and electronic flares will serve to make the course quite safe, with proper caution.
The 10K Course will run most of the 5K course, but will make a Left turn onto Willard West Road (noted on the images below) to turn Right onto Liberty Road. There is a turnaround on Liberty, to return to the park on Willard West Road, to then rejoin the 5K course and finish the race.
