5K / 5-Miler Courses
The 5K race course will both start and finish at the Depot area of the Willard City Park, near 542 S. Main St, on City Park Dr. The 5K consists of mostly sidewalk and street running, but the terrain will be mixed as the course travels through the wilderness trail leading to the park. The 5K is largely a closed course, with some areas in neighborhoods that are open to traffic. These areas will be marked very clearly, with traffic cones and signage to assist with the course.
The 5-Miler course will break off from the 5K route in the woods. The course will be clearly marked with volunteer assistance, but 5-Miler participants will go straight at an intersection while 5K participants turn left, proceeding to enter the course for Lap 2. During the 2nd lap, 5-Milers will instead turn left in the woods instead of straight before turning right upon exiting the woods and heading for the finish.
The bold black line on the map below is the 5K course, with two modifications for the 5-Miler. The blue line is the 5-Miler Lap 1 route while green line is the route for Lap 2.
